"I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means, I might win some."
      --I Corinthians 9:22b

Dinner Theatre Announcement

It is our desire, at Middle Valley Baptist, to use the Creative Arts Ministries, not only to entertain, but to challenge and encourage the body of Christ, and to show Christ to the lost.

"In the beginning God created..."  All we have to do is to look at Christ's creation to realize what a creative God we serve!  And yet we are His most glorious creation!  How creative the Creator was, and what a sense of humor!  Just think.  We are created in His image!

According to a recent study, we retain

  • 20% of what we hear

  • 80% of what we see

Even our Lord used parables, signs and wonders, and even just the touch of His hand to portray to others His will and His love for them.  God created us all unique and with unique talents and abilities.  He expects us to use the creative talents He gives us for His glory.

We have a place for you!  If you love the Lord our Creator, and would like to worship Him through the Creative Arts, we have a ministry team for you.

Adult Drama Team

Mission statement:  Using drama to bring new light to familiar lessons and to enhance the worship of the Church family.

"What we have seen and heard we show and tell to you also; that you may have fellowship with us, and indeed, our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ."
-- I John 1:3

The "Show and Tell" drama team is made up of adults in our church who have the desire to use drama to minister to the Church body.  This is done through performances for seasonal productions, church services, conferences, etc.

"Not Quite Human" - Youth Puppet Team

Mission statement:  Using puppets as a ministry tool to teach people of all ages.

"...unless you become like little children, you cannot enter the kingdom of God..."

"...it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into heaven..."

Puppets can get away with almost anything.  Children love puppets, but they can be for adults as well.  They paint pictures and hit home a point sometimes better than just a sermon can.  We can all benefit from stepping back and taking a look at things in a different light.

The puppet team  performs for special events, conferences, etc.

The Adult Drama Team and the Puppet Team are available to travel to minister and encourage fellow Christians.  If you are interested in having one of the teams come to your church or event, please call our church office at 842-1911 to speak with David or Candice Sneed.

Lamppost Productions - Dinner Theatre Ministry

Mission statement:  Using drama to provide wholesome family entertainment to our church and the community.

Looking for a way to spend some time with your family and friends that is affordable, entertaining to the whole family, and wholesome?  Then look no further.

The Lamppost Productions Dinner Theatre takes place each summer on the campus of Middle Valley Baptist.  The cast each year is chosen through auditions and is made up of adults from our church and other churches.  Each evening consists of a full course meal, catered by a local restaurant, and a 2-Act comedy, which takes place on a stage right before your eyes.  You get to enter the world of the play.

If you would like to receive information about the dinner theatre and each year's performances, please send a letter to or call David or Candice Sneed at the church office (842-1911).

Youth Stick and Hand Movement Teams

The "Stick" and "Hand" teams are our newest forms of ministry.  The unique ministry tools build on the power of the message and medium of music.

The Stick Team uses black dowel rod sticks to interpret musical messages.

"...the trees of the field will clap their hands..."
--Isaiah 55:12b

The Hands Team uses interpretive signing and hand movements to interpret scripture and the message in music.

"...if my people refuse to praise me, even the rocks will cry out..."
--Luke 19:40

Through the power of the Holy Spirit, these ministries have the ability to reach out and touch the heart without using the spoken word.
