“Where Kids
Take Their Parents to Learn”
Question # 1 – “WHAT exactly is KidStuf?”
KidStuf is a forty-five minute weekly program that uses music,
drama, and storytelling to teach children and their parents biblical
virtues. Through KidStuf our church has the opportunity to
accomplish two vital goals:
1.
To reach families without a church background or affiliation in a warm
and welcoming environment they can appreciate
2.
To provide parents and kids a meaningful worship experience that impacts
their entire week in practical ways
Question
#2 – “HOW does KidStuf work?”
During KidStuf, families worship together through various forms of
media such as sketches, music, and video – forms that today’s
families understand. Also, the “Good Book Look” focuses on the
Bible for a specific application of the biblical virtue being
learned. During this segment, families learn why God says the
virtue is so important and how it can make a real difference in how
they live. And with the help of “God-Time Cards” and “Refrigerator
Post-Its”, parents and kids are encouraged to talk about the virtue
throughout their week till the next KidStuf. And our experience has
shown that they really do talk about it!
Question #3 – “WHO can be involved?”
Anyone!
In fact, we hope that everyone will participate in KidStuf in
some way! You might do so by inviting families each week,
acting on stage, helping out with the media and sound equipment,
registering new families, sitting with kids who are participating,
welcoming guests, and many other ways. Even if you aren’t led to
“hands-on” Sunday morning involvement, you can still make KidStuf a
part of your daily prayers! Simply put, there’s a place and a way
for anyone who wants to be involved!
Question
#4 – “HOW do I get started?”
If you’re ready to
jump in and serve, or if you’d simply like to know more about
KidStuf, feel free today to talk with our Children’s Ministries
Director, Nancy Smith. We’re very excited about KidStuf
at Middle Valley Baptist and just as eager to hear from you!
“What about Children’s Sunday
School
Children’s Sunday School has moved to a new time! Instead of
dismissing to Children’s Worship prior to the offering, children
(ages three through fifth grade) will dismiss to Sunday School. For
the next 45-minutes they will benefit from biblical instruction that
will help them follow Jesus who, as a child, “increased in wisdom
and in stature and in favor with God and man” (Luke 2:52).
